I had to hype myself up to bring you this blog post.

But, I got off my high horse and sat down and forced myself to watch some runway shows online so I could at least report back here with some exciting new trend watch news.

British Countryside Tomboy Meets Victorian Girl

It is giving fall 2009 — and I fought so hard not to see it when the kids on TikTok declared it fact — which to me feels exactly like how we all dressed in college, so I’m here for it, if I have to be.

Think Alexa Chung, Florence + the Machine, and PNW meets New York vibes — AKA Indie Sleaze.

Cozy, edgy, playful, and chic.

Equestrian vibes all around.

I LIVED in my flat riding boots for at least five years. Nothing was cozier, nothing paired better and I have YET to find their duplicate for my closet.

To this day, I am very particular about my riding boots replacement.

It has to be mid-calf, it has to be real leather, have a buckle, and have a relaxed fit throughout.

I am not striving for an actual British riding boot – I am striving for her relaxed American cousin. You know?

I threw some in my closet last fall, and the trend seems to be gaining steam for fall 2025 and winter 2026.

Embracing Bohemian Styled Dressing

Oversized blazers and baggy pants are still in.

I think most designer houses are asking consumers to look sloppier and less tailored.

Minimal Makeup & Heritage Dressing

While most runway shows are showcasing fresh skin and barely there makeup —

That has been the ongoing theme since 2020.

Nothing new is really being introduced, although I do think heavily leaning into 90s makeup is something designers like RL are leaning into.

Some good news? I do think that we will see a surge of punk and saturation coming back within the next few years.

Fashion houses are sharing that they are not there yet.

Natural Textures and Fibers

As fast fashion has put a damper on the modern age, many fashion houses want to up their game by showcasing that they use the best fabrics and textures that money can buy to their most loyal consumers.

I think after seeing such quality decline from Chanel and Dior, a lot of designers are being forced to play up to their brand’s original hype or risk losing it all.

You’ll see lots of leather, lace, silk, suede, and velvet.

Looping in details that look and feel expensive — and that is the point.

Time to bring out your vintage Chloe Paddington and Belenciaga Moto bag.

The theme for this year is swash-buckling girlie pirate.

Shoes

Overall, this fall 2025 is really the time to let your freak flag fly in whatever direction you wish.
