Holiday Makeup
Holiday makeup is something I cannot get enough of.
I have fond memories of being sprawled out on my bedroom floor with my friends reading the latest Vogue and Cosmo magazines as a teen.
Loving the editorial photos that were lined up with the latest take of the holiday season.
Holiday makeup editorials were always so fun and festive to see.
I loved to see the multiple versions and takes on it every year.
In last weeks blog post, I talked about how to get a flawless makeup base, with my post on hyperpigmentation makeup.
This Holiday Makeup blog entry is a follow up post on how I built upon the hyperpigmentation makeup.
Makeup Products Used
For the holiday makeup look I wanted to use really affordable price point items, while mixing in with other price points.
I will link all the products below:
Tanned in Tulum by BH Cosmetics.
Chocolate Cherry Truffle by BH Cosmetics. (I have the Vanilla Cherry-Dark Berry Tones palette).
Nice eyeshadow palette by BH Cosmetics (discontinued palette).
A Very Merry Cream Eyeshadow in Gilded by BH Cosmetics.
Elf Cosmetics liquid black liner.
Another great find I used is the Elf Cosmetics Lash Extending Mascara.
Elf Cosmetics Hydrating Camo Concealer in the shade Light Beige.
Urban Decay’s Naked 3 palette.
Spicy lip liner by NYX Cosmetics as mentioned in my Red Lip For Brown Skin blog post.
Red Carpet Red by Charlotte Tilbury as mentioned in my Red Lip For Brown Skin blog post.
Telescopic Mascara by L’Oreal in black.
Other base products in Hyperpigmentation Makeup post.
Makeup Application
After I’ve prepped my skin……. I prime and add my base layer makeup as previously discussed here.
Next, I go in with my Elf Hydrating Camo Concealer.
I add a little of the concealer under my eyes, on the sides of my nose and on the bridge of my nose.
I then take my damp beauty blender and blend it into my skin.
Bronzer & Highlighter.
Holiday Makeup with a bronzer is something I wanted to get right.
I wanted it to be a golden tone, but I wanted it a little deeper.
With bronzer application, I do the three menthod.
I used the shades Ruinas and Paradise.
I then take my number 1 brush by BH Cosmetics and I blend it into my entire face, making sure my tone is even.
These are the brushes I used for reference.
For highlighter I used both shades, keeping true to the gold holiday makeup look I was going for.
I applied Yucatan and Quintana Roo on my upper cheekbones, cupids bow and the bridge of my nose.
Eyes
Starting out, I went into the Naked 3 palette with the color called “Limit.”
I used this shade all over the eye lid.
Then I went in with Gilded by BH cosmetics.
I applied this with my finger and did the lower lid, only applying to the middle and inner section on the lid.
Then I went into the crease and the outer eyelid area with the color Gingersnap.
I also used Gingersnap on lower lash line and Icy in the inner lower lash line area.
Over the outer eyelid area, where I went in with Gingersnap and I added the shade Brandy over on-top of that.
I like to do the outer/upper lid area in the circular motion on the lid, and a lined motion to get the crease area.
From there, I went in with my Elf liquid liner to get the winged liner look.
Finishing with the Telescopic mascara on the top lash and the lower lash by elf.
I like the lower lash line to be done with Elf’s mascara because this is the perfect brush for smaller eyes and getting into the smaller areas on your face.
Because a smokey eye is my favorite, I always take a pencil brush on the lower lash line so that I can blend out the mascara and the eye shadow together, just in case I got sloppy with my mascara application.
Cheeks
The Cherry Chocolate Truffle palette, is super fun and smells amazing.
What I love about this palette, is that it offers darker blush tones, and the two darkest shades are the ones I used for this holiday look.
The palette does not offer individual blush names, so I cannot tell you the specifics.
Lips
For the final makeup look, I lined my lips with NYX lip pencil in the shade Spicy and filled in my Lips with Red Carpet Red by Charlotte Tilbury.
Brows
Brows are a weird thing for me.
I normally hate how it looks when I fill them in and love them when I do nothing to them.
That is, I love them in a clear gel look, pushed upwards.
For that, I use Milani Cosmetics brow gel.
Makeup Completed
Final Look
Add festive hair flair and your best holiday tartan and go enjoy your holidays.

Thus concludes my Holiday Makeup blog post.
Happy Holidays.
& See you next year.
