All gin lovers, raise your hand.
Truly this cocktail is the perfect pairing for all your summer entertainment needs.
When to Take This Recipe Seriously….
So, I personally feel that a theme with any event makes the event even more memorable and since it’s still technically spring and nearing summer…
Dads are notorious for their terrible dad jokes.
Mine has an arsenal of dad jokes that he loves to tell to anyone who will listen and what better way to celebrate a father, than to give the gift of a cocktail that lets dad know, he’s the “bees knees”……..
Drink of Summer
There are many variations of what a summer cocktail is, but for me, personally…..
A summer cocktail is one I can make on hand pretty easily and something that most guests will enjoy.
There are so many fun summer cocktails out there, but this one is definitely suited for the old school vintage lovers, who probably aren’t going to be wanting a wild night.
For me, it is a drink I can do one of and then graduate to my regular gin and soda’s as I really don’t enjoy too much sugar, but again….this drink isn’t that sweet.
Just a touch.
What You’ll Need
-Lemon Peel for garnish
-Water
–Small Saucepan for Honey Simple Syrup
–Gin
Directions
-Two ounces of gin (To fill a coupe glass, I do a double shot or fill the rest of the glass with soda water)
– Three teaspoons of lemon juice
-Two teaspoons of honey simple syrup (equal parts honey and water…..bring to a boil and put in storing jar).
Add all ingredients in cocktail shaker. Adding in the ice cubes as one of the last steps. Add the lid and shake for ten to fifteen seconds in the cocktail shaker.
Take off the lid and take the strainer over the cocktail glass and pour.
Makes one serving.
