Summer Candles that Smell Amazing
We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.
Summer candles are a vibe and if you live in Washington, you kind of become obsessed with seasons (we get them all, and sometimes all in the same day).
This spring for example, was a bit off on the weather front and we had a late start to the summer months.
As a result, many Washingtonians were dreaming of summer and one of the ways I countered the reality was to actually find summer candles that would remind me that summer was coming.
I just had to be patient.
Finding the Right Summer Candle
When looking for candles I have a few rules.
The first being, it can smell any which way it wants to as long as it sparks joy (for my senses).
I don’t have a candle “type” because that cuts you off from being surprised.
Also, I like my candles to be fragranced, but not overly done.
Another thing I love about candles is to make sure it feels like a luxury scent, without the luxury price tag.
However, this Diptyque candle kind of sounds amazing.
(This post is a follow up post to my Winter Scented Candles blog post, that readers really enjoyed.)
For the Sweet Summer Scented Candle Lover
This candle is perfect because it literally smells like a vanilla ice cream sundae with hot fudge.
I was taken by surprise by how amazing and potent this candle smells.
Plus, the aroma in your home will smell delicious.
In truth, I burned through this candle pretty quickly.
Not too quickly however……
“Sundae Funday” lasted about a month and a half with a pretty consistent burn schedule.
I may also have to check out this ice cream scented candle in mango by Yankee Candles. Yum.
Another candle that has me intrigued is Champaign Toast by Bath & Body Works.
It sounds amazing.
The Spa Scented Candle
The Stress Relief candle by Leoben is perfect for a spa scent and or co-existing in a space where overly feminine fragrances are not as appreciated.
This particular candle is not available on-line, so I will link other products like it.
Stress relief by Sweetwater decor has a similar note selection for their candle, so this is probably the best dupe of a stress relief candle like the one from Leoben.
Goose Creek also has a eucalyptus & mint scent, which seems on par with relaxation and spa vibes.
Candles for Peony Enthusiasts
Technically, this classifies as a spring scented candle, but to be fair….
Peony scented anything smells amazing and classic and deserves to be included in a summer candle mini haul.
These tin candles from Trader Joes are perfect for a quick ambiance mood boost after a grocery store run…..and they only cost $4 a pop.
Kind of a steal, tbh.
If you want peony candles, this one from Confetti Candles seems to be a great choice.
However, if you’re feeling bougie and want the aesthetic that paying more can get you, we have to let this Jo Malone candle enter the chat.
Fragrance for the Mango Scented Lovers
Finally, the last scent on my mini haul and the perfect scent for summer candles.
This candle was actually a birthday gift from one of my dear friends and I love it.
I love the packaging and the scent and how thoughtful of a gift it was.
I don’t think I have ever had a mango scented candle.
This mango and coconut milk candle is becoming a fast favorite, due to its mild sweet scent that doesn’t overpower, yet this candle also packs a punch, and fills the room with aroma and bliss.
Target has a few mango options as well.
The mango and pineapple scented candle by Sand & Fog.
And a mango and coconut milk scented candle by Opal House.
Candle Joy
I have to be honest; I have always loved candles and during the pandemic (the pandemic that is still very much happening) ….
Burning candles was one thing that calmed my anxiety down and lifted my mood if I was in a funk.
It wasn’t a cure-all, but it added to other practices that have helped with my anxiety.
I will definitely be diving into topics of self-care in future blog posts, so please check back weekly to see when that post goes live.
As always, if you resonated with a topic or product I have discussed, please leave a comment.
I would love to hear from you and I hope you enjoyed this blog post on summer scented candles.
