Drugstore Fall Makeup Tutorial for a Natural Nude Look

Officially, Happy Fall — I posted my drugstore fall makeup tutorial on Tik Tok a few weeks ago — I also wanted to share it here.
When I say I was blown away by the makeup used (mostly drugstore) — Read about my review of these products here.
Step 1 – Prime Your Face
Prime your face as a first step after skincare.
I used a touch of two primers. No larger than a dime sized amount.
I used the Hydro and Poreless primer — both from essence.
They blend well together and very well into your skin and wear really well as a standalone primer or together.
Step 2 – Apply Your Foundation
For this look I use the NYX Blur foundation in the shade “10.”
To blend anything foundation/ skin-tint wise, I use a foundation brush.
This foundation blends in really well, and a little goes a long way.
It’s buildable — and it also feels so lightweight that you feel like you’re just wearing your natural skin.
Step 3 – Conceal (Optional)
I feel like concealer is such a preference based thing to add.
For myself, I do enjoy concealing.
This look is using concealer from ELF in the shade “light sand.”
I apply a bit of concealer along my under eyes, my chin, forehead, the bridge of my nose and at an angle from the corners of my mouth and on the hollows of my cheeks.
Stippling with the same foundation brush and blending it all in.
Now, set your t-zone with powder. I like to use the ELF HD powder.
Step 4 – Contour
The ELF contour wand is actually great — it is what I used for this look.
I have it in the shade “medium tan.”
When applying contour, I apply under my jawline, underneath my cheekbones, the sides of the bridge of my nose and along the tip of my nose — as well as on the sides of my forehead..
I blend this all in using my foundation brush as well.
Step 5 – BRONZE
Everywhere that contour just went, I apply bronzer to — I used “Baby Got Bronzed” by essence.
EXCEPT I place the bronzer anywhere above where I just put contour.
That means above my jawline and above hallows of my cheekbone.
I also place the bronzer were I just put the contour on my nose — while the bronzer on my forehead is below the contoured portion.
Step 6 — Highlight
I tend to keep a tight makeup collection of things that I consider my go-to.
Surprisingly, nothing luxe anymore. I mean a few odds and ends, but no where near what I used from luxe almost five years ago.
This “Tanned in Talum” bronzer/highlighter palette from BH cosmetics is one of my favorites.
I mix the bronze and gold highlighter and apply it to the top of my cheekbone, the bridge of my nose and my cupid’s bow.
Step 7 – Cheeks
I use the top two shades in (the discontinued BH cosmetics palette), “Chocolate Cherry Truffle.”
Basically, any apricot or nude blush closest to your skin-tone’s natural blush color will work perfectly.
Step 8 — Eyes
The eyeshadow palette I used for this look was the “Nothing Compares to Nude” by essence.
I go all over with the top row’s matte beige.
From there, I go in with the bottom middle shimmer shade across the bottom lid, smoking the look out in the crease with the darkest shimmer shade (located in the middle of the top row).
I also line the bottom lid with the same shade that I smoke the look with.
Next, I finish the eyes with a mascara.
I have been a fan of Telescopic for years, but have been loving the waterproof mascara from essence.
Step 9 — Lips
For lips, I love using the Palladio lip stain in the shade “mocha” (also filling the lips in with this shade) and finishing with the lip plumping gloss from essence in “candy shop.”
Step 10 – Eyebrows | Drugstore Fall Makeup Tutorial
For eyebrows — I am loving the small fibers and brush from essence cosmetics’ eyebrow mascara.
I really like to apply to the entire brow, let it dry and comb it up.
From there, I wipe any excess off and make sure the brow mascara isn’t on my skin above my eyebrow.
It can happen.
Steps 11 & 12 – Final Steps
I powder again in my t-zone with the Elf HD powder and set with a finishing spray.
