Ballet Mary Jane Flats for Spring/Summer & Fall & How to Style Them
We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.
Let’s talk about ballet Mary Jane flats.
Did you take ballet as a child?
Were you obsessed with pink and tutus and dance?
Same.
How fitting that we can now all wear our most girliest athleisurewear from adolescence and incorporate it into our daily outfit.
When I first saw the ballet shoes make a return (in square toe) I was sort of was turned off by it (for myself), but I found a pair that read more Marie Antionette and I fell madly in love with the trend by default.
We have Sofia Coppola (& Kirsten Dunst) to thank for that.
It’s All in the Square Toe
I don’t know what it is about a square-toe ballet flat, but I found it to be a real change from the Y2K flat, and now I get it.
Sometimes, if you don’t like a trend, you may not like how the trend is first presented to you.
Just because an item is trending doesn’t mean you have to partake in it (by means of purchase or wear) — and if you wait long enough, the trend will likely show up in a design you adore (perhaps).
A spin-off of the original, if you will.
Never buy anything just because it is trendy. Buy it because it feels like you, or excites you in some way, or just feels right — even if it looks a bit off to others.
You’re the one wearing the clothes, makeup, and accessories — No one else.
Your clothes, outfits, and ways of presenting them to the world are for you and not for anyone else.
It’s true.
Ballet Mary Jane Shoes
Let’s dive into some really fun ballet Mary Jane shoe options, shall we?
I am loving this super cute and affordable mesh ballet flat option.
Perfection. Very true to ballet core.
A bit of a splurge at over $200, but very worth it, I am sure.
Here is a similar pair from J Crew (with a rounded toe).
Loving these mesh flats, which give a really spunky beachy vibe to your look.
These Mio Marino flats are $30. I kind of love these. They come in pink, blue, champaign, and black. The shape is very 2005, and the look is modern. I love.
These are almost $900, and your favorite fashion influencers most definitely have a pair.
And Other Stories has a pair for under $200. I love the red and punk buckle detailing.
DSW has a pair for under $50.
While T.J. Maxx and Marshalls are offering the same shoe at the same price point.
If you are wanting truly dainty Marie Antionette-inspired flats — cider.com has the best options. Truly. They are my favorite and super comfy.
