Double denim is really ringing true for so many people.
Last year, it was all about the midi denim skirt, and this year, it’s all about denim in all forms.
Who could be mad about that?
Not me.
Lazy Girl Hack
What it comes down to is embracing all the versatility that denim has to offer us — Denim is that girl.
Not the copy/paste trope on the internet – but a clothing staple that every women can enjoy. There aren’t any loopholes to wearing denim, just the loopholes in your jeans. Woot!
Not sure what to wear?
Throw denim at it.
Want to match?
Throw denim at it.
Want to play with print, texture, and more?
Throw denim at it.
As I am writing this, I really wish I had styled my midi denim skirt with my ruffle top.
Next time, perhaps.
Styled Double Denim In Two Ways – My Way
Double denim in two washes.
This is my favorite way to break up the lines in my soft classic frame.
I am not a full-on shortie, but I am neither tall.
Outfit #1 – Styling Double Denim for Spring and Summer

Mostly as a (Kibbe Body System’s) soft classic, we aim for averages and balances.
Soft classic balances are very balanced, whereas someone with a more dramatic frame has a vastly different point of reference for balance, and someone with a more natural frame would favor more long lines, less frill, and flare. You know?
A good rule of thumb? If it feels off – it is off. Body systems edit done.
However, if you like it and it feels like you – you should probably explore that too.
As a soft classic, I also break the rules because of my essences. I will link a blog post that talks about that.
An aside – if you understand your frame, you probably already dress for your body and essences without thinking about it. The Kibbe system is just a streamlined way to see if certain things will work and trying to nail down a quick way to dress for the frame you have, not the frame society tells you is “in.”
I can go more into the Kibbe systems if that sounds cool. Maybe in a later post or video.
Outfit #2
Double denim in the same shade with tapered jeans.
This was such a fun and easy outfit to wear.
Adding in something like a utility vest helps to add a bit of personalization to something that can look a little too trendy.
Also, I really don’t like how much this can look like a jumpsuit if you aren’t careful, so adding in something over the top helps to communicate it isn’t a jumpsuit.

My ruffle top is the second one in. H&M has great denim, FYI!
Let me know if you plan on wearing double denim for the spring and summer.
