Welcome to fall.
Welcome to your quarterly reminder that it is indeed time to update your summer aesthetic for your fall finds.
How to decide what you need and what you do not need this autumn.
Keeping it simple but keeping it easy.
My five simple steps to finding your fall wardrobe style.
Step 1. Find five go to outfits you can think nonsensically about upon entering your closet each morning.
These are the outfits that will be the bread and butter of your fall wardrobe. The days that you have no time and want to feel put together, or lack motivation and want to remain in your style comfort zone will be important to organizing your wardrobe……
The point of these five outfits is to save you sanity and time.
Here is what your fav five outfits should include and they are probably already in your closet.
- Jeans
- T-shirt
- Blazer
- Sweater
- Dress
- Skirt
- Cardigan
- Blouse
- Flats
- Heels
- Boots
- Accessories you’ll love with every piece.
- Tights
- Jacket
To add some visuals to the list, I have included some on-trend fall looks I think you’ll love…..
Finding a piece of jewelry that can inspire you to start stacking. In the link below I offer my choice on how to start stacking.
This mother of pearl necklace by Ana Luisa is a great addition to a stacking collection.
Obsessed with this satin skirt fall find, linked here.
Another take on a fall and winter skirt look can also be found when looking to pleated swing skirts; take this one by Amazon fashion. Loving the blush toned apricot color. Such a warm yet muted tone to take into the colder months.
This Cher inspired cropped cardigan is just sassy enough to inspire any mood yet demure enough to let you get away with however you’re wanting to style this piece. Love it. Link below image.
Say hello to your favorite pair of jeans that will take you dayside to evening in no time at all. Buy Here.
Amazon fashion is proving functionality is adorable with this basic white t-shirt. I love that it’s basic but the top is a but open at the bottom so you can wear it with multiple looks and layers in the fall and winter months. Click the image to be taken directly to this item.
The perfect bootie for fall.
Let’s imagine layering in sweaters and coats on long and flowy dresses. It’s a win from me.
Step 2.
What are your fall finds that you used to love but never wear? Make a donate pile.
Step 3. After you have your five outfits, sift through your wardrobe to see what qualifies as transitional to fall and what is considered summer clothing you won’t use until next season.
Clear out your summer season and replace with your fall functional staples.
Step 4. Sift through your wardrobe and organize in a way that makes sense to you.
Some people coordinate using color coordination and others coordinate by items and styles (ex: t-shirts, blouses, skirts, etc.) . Make your closet cleansing experience unique to you….but whatever you do, pull items you aren’t too crazy about and add those to the donation pile.
Step 5. Accessorize your five fall fits with five statement or staple pieces you can wear and naturally gravitate towards as a no brainer link to pull together your look BH by.
This can be your favorite chunky ring, a statement bracelet, earrings, scarves, handbags, hats, headbands and shoes. Whatever you feel drawn to…….incorporate those in.
The last step is to just have fun. Pour yourself a cup of coffee, or a glass of wine, play some music and get to work.
Happy fall.
