Calling the 21+ crowd only (please drink responsibly)…….
The perfect apple lovers fall beverage, with a kick of that whisky to ring in tailgate season.
When you think about whisky and root beer they are naturally spiced beverages, and when making the transition to colder weather I thought I would bring you a cold, crisp and refreshing beverage that all the adults can enjoy.
The trick is in the sauce. What exactly is the sauce? A simple case of that homemade simple syrup.
- One cup of granulated sugar
- One cup of water
- 1 to 1.5 tsps of cinnamon (or just pour until you feel it feels right)
- One cut up apple (remove the apple when the syrup is done)
- Bring the syrup to a boil
- Store in a container
The cocktail itself is super simple.
- Three or four large ice cubes
- 2 ounces of whisky (I used Crown Royal)
- ¾ ounce of apple cinnamon simple syrup
- one ounce of root beer
- 2-3 ounce of soda water
- Shake or stir and serve
Please let me know what you think of this cocktail in the comments. I would love to hear how you served this beverage.
