Are Skinny Jeans Back? Jean Trends for Fall 2024

I made a mistake and found it when I was perusing jean culture online — (as one does) to see what I could see about jean trends for fall.
Make no mistake — I missed the part of the Mui Mai fashion show where the models are wearing skinny jeans.
How did I miss it?
I was so mad at myself for not seeing it.
However, this is great news for the millennial whose style calling card was the skinny jean.
You can now pull them safely out of hiding (if you still have them that is).
An important clue that skinny jeans would be making a comeback was that heroine chic had made its way back into the mind’s eye of design — the skinny jeans trend will always follow.
It’s their trajectory.
Their life-blood.
It got me thinking of the jean silhouettes I will be looking for this fall.
The past few years have been downright experimental.
What I love is how diversified style is getting again.
Personality is seeping back into fashion culture.
No buy months are being used by many, and we aren’t as shopping-crazed as we used to be (COVID-19 spending trauma responses by many I’m afraid).
We want variety.
Fashion houses were happy to oblige, and the community that lives and breathes the daily grind dictates how it all plays out.
Do you like what you see on the runway for everyday life?
This is what Virginie Viard was doing with the Chanel runway (recognizing their market for their everyday consumers).
Let’s get into jean fits, shall we.
Baggier Fits
I think the younger, more polished silhouette is always going to be a wide-length pant.
It just looks more polished, fresh, and fun.
Think about it — baggier jeans in the 70s (people looked younger) —
Tighter clothes and caked-on makeup in the 80s (people looked older).
Baggier fits offer workwear to nightlife fits — especially if the pants are in a darker wash, holes free, and hemmed, making a huge difference in your appearance.
Here are some great baggier fits I have been loving for fall.
Jeans for Fall – Wide Leg
When looking at these jeans from Walmart — I had no clue I was looking at jeans from Walmart.
Slay.
You could wear these as work attire and literally — no one would know.
The weekend fit.
Office ready casual Friday jeans.
These look great. I may have to try a pair out.
Jeans like this will always make you feel 10/10.
As someone who dislikes barrel jeans — I can get behind these Calvin Klein jeans.
Boot-Cut
Low-rise bootcut jeans are the staple. I swear.
Great wash with the perfect waistline.
I am loving these jeans.
A jean with a great wash and great length.
Skinny Jeans
The takedown of the skinny jeans seemed to be a mass movement.
For the first time, millennials were told — “skinny jeans are for old people.”
Ha.
We had a moment of reflection, and I think we’ve come out the other side.
What do I mean by that?
We’ve collectively diversified our jean silhouettes while many still held onto their beloved and trusted denim.
Here are some skinny jeans for you to check out.

A classic cut.
Loving this modernize skinny jean.
I love the zipper pocket detailing.
A low-rise jean.
All in all, I really hope you’re enjoying looking at jean trends for fall, embracing new cuts and styling old ones.
What jeans do you think you will be reaching for this fall?
