Skincare Saturday’s | A Look at Easy Weekend Daytime Skincare
We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.
I love my self-proclaimed skincare Saturdays (my daytime skincare weekly reset), which is essentially a day of no makeup and extra dayside skincare.
This is something that I try to implement on a weekend, holiday, or a work-from-home day.
As a busy human being (as we all are), I really try to make sure that I take one day off from wearing anything but skincare on my face.
I can always tell during the week when I have skipped this self-care day, but sometimes this can’t be helped.
(Disclaimer: this routine is written by someone with combination oily skin)
Skincare Saturday Step 1:
On skincare Saturdays, I cleanse as usual.
I use Cetaphil’s cleanser and rub that in for about thirty seconds before washing off.
Daytime Skincare Step 2:
I go in with my serums.
Starting off with salicylic acid and some form of vitamin C.
I use the Ordinary’s products for this step.
Next, I sometimes will go in with an eye cream, depending on the day. I try to use my eye cream daily but sometimes forget.
Step 4:
I moisturize with either CeraVe or the Trader Joe’s gel moisturizer (letting that soak into the skin).
Elf also has an affordable gel moisturizer option. I haven’t tried this specific one, however — I have tried the Holy Hydration facial moisturizer, and It works great for normal to dry skin.
I can only imagine the gel formula would work amazing with oily skin types.
Step 5:
Sunscreen is my next step.
My go-to is always an SPF 50. I really love the one from Eucerine and Paula’s Choice.
Step 6:
This is where I will throw on a lip color. I am loving a neutral brown liner, followed by a mauve lipstick and a mauve gloss.
My go-to look is: NYX Retractible Lip Pencil in Neutral, Revlon’s Rum Raison, topped with Makeup Revolution’s Ceramide gloss in Mauve.
In the photo I am wearing NYX’s Duck Plump in the shade “Brick of Time.”
I hope you found this skincare post easy, affordable and something you may try out for your own weekend skincare.
