Daytime skincare is something I am passionate about because it took me a really long time to get down to a science in my 30’s.
Before we get to that, I want to say welcome to Bella Kate 22.

Daytime Skincare
Daytime skincare in general is such a weird space to navigate.
There is so much information out there and everyone has different skin needs.
By no means is my daytime skincare routine perfect, but it has worked for me in almost all area’s that I wanted to see improvement.
That being said……
There are still skin concerns that I really would like to work on, but for now……this has been my go-to daytime skincare routine.
By sharing my daytime skincare routine, I thought it could help others with similar skin types and skin concerns.
Let me start out by stating that I am NOT a dermatologist, so please take my advice with a grain of salt.
Take what resonates and leave what doesn’t.
Skin Needs
Daytime skincare and your skincare needs are a very personal subject.
I made this daytime skincare routine to address some issues I was having with my own skin.
I had done a lot of damage to my skin barrier by using Witch Hazel in my morning and nighttime skincare routines as previously mentioned in a previous blog post.
Rebuilding a healthy skin barrier was a key concern while rebuilding my daytime skincare routine.
Next on my list was my pore size.
Pore size was not something I had ever had to deal with prior to my early thirties…
However, with the damaged skin barrier; my pore size was now an issue.
The next thing was combatting dryness while also combatting oily patches on my t-zone.
All of these issues were things I had to take into consideration when I began to rebuild my daytime skincare routine.
A Gentle Cleanser
Because I wanted to rebuild and maintain a healthy skin barrier, I wanted something gentle and dermatologist approved.
I decided to switch from a tea tree cleanser to ‘Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser for Combination to Oily Skin.
This has really been a great product and I was weary to try it because I thought it would be too gentle and leave me feeling less clean, but it’s amazing.
Double Cleanse
Double cleansing is a must.
I love using Garnier Micellar water and a reusable cotton pad to exfoliate and get anything additional my initial cleanse may have left behind.
For micellar water I use the one for all skin types.
Moisturizer With Ceramides & Hyaluronic Acid
To really lock in moisture, which is what someone who is aging wants to do, I use a heavy all over body cream for my face.
First off, let me start off by saying that I was very hesitant to put on an all over body cream on my face….
Especially because I was raised to use matching brands for cleansers and moisturizes.
This meant using creams specifically labeled for your face.
But let me also say that my dad has used body lotion on his face throughout my entire life and even before I was earthside, and his skin looks amazing.
So, I thought to myself……. if it works for him and we have similar genetics, it may work for me.
It has so far and I would not go back, especially after healing a damaged skin barrier.
To achieve moisture with all the ceramides and hyaluronic acid, I use CeraVe Moisturizing Cream.
Again, this is a dermatologist approved product and gentle enough, but also allows your skin to be protected while rebuilding your skin barrier.
It’s amazing.
The moisturizer itself looks very creamy and fluffy, but really leaves a nice hydrated finish that is not oily at all.
An Under Eye Serum
This is a step I use on days where “the bags under my eyes are designer.”
On days like that I slap on two drops of the Ordinary’s Caffeine Eye Solution and wait for it to dry and depuff my under eyes.
Sunscreen
The last and final step to any daytime facial skincare activities is to apply your sunscreen.
The trick to sunscreen is learning that physical sunscreen is your best friend.
My chosen sunscreen is by Paula’s Choice.
I love that this sunscreen leaves a really hydrating finish and healthy glow to your skin.
This sunscreen also does have a faint white cast but absorbs quickly after you rub it into your skin.
Plus, this sunscreen is an SPF 50, which is all I will put on.
Everyday.
Conclusion & Bare Faced Photo Reference for Skin Results
This wraps up my very simplistic take on daytime skincare.
My daytime routine is quick, and the products are affordable and have helped clear up most of my skin and skincare concerns.
I hope that these tips and products can help anyone else who has had issues with pore size, combination skin and oily t-zones.
