I love me a drugstore beach makeup look.
Summer is the season of easy makeup, and my favorite way to wear the summer glow look is with products I don’t have to be too precious about.
Actually, Elf cosmetics has this new “Halo Glow Liquid Filter” that I need to try ASAP.
But, I want to go over a quick tutorial on how to get a really easy glow makeup look that you can use all year round.
Why Drugstore Makeup?
Summer beach makeup is a makeup genre that means less is more.
The beach life is relaxing, yet careless and you will probably be shoving books, water bottles and other beach accessories into your beach bag…
With all that commotion, you want to avoid putting your most expensive products in harm’s way.
Plus, I feel like travel and makeup are tricky and if I forget something at home or it breaks, I want to be able to replace the cheaper version of a product.
I also want to know how that product will work with my face if I am ever traveling and in a pinch.
Products You’ll Need
–Milani Glow (I use the shade 210)
–Hydrating Camo Concealer (I use light sand)
–Lengthening and Volumizing Mascara by Elf Cosmetics
– Wet n’ Wild Matte Lipstick Mochalicious
Makeup Application Process- Face
Now that we know what products we need, I will go over the steps.
After your face is prepped, you’re going to want to apply your hydrating primer.
Next, you’re going to stipple your skin tint onto your face until it is well blended.
I used Milani Glow to achieve the look.
After that, go in with your camo concealer by Elf.
During the application process you’re going to want to apply a few dots onto your under-eye area, on the bridge of your nose, your forehead and chin, and on the sides of your nose where the skin meets your cheek.
This concealer is considered the brightener, as it isn’t concealing, but is brightening your face in those areas.
Next, take your powder and apply to the blended, brightened areas.
Next, use your bronzer using the 3 method, then blend all over your face and down the bridge of your nose.
This step just adds a bronzed glow to your face, making you looked even more sun kissed.
Summer Beach Makeup-Eyes
Now take your bronzer and use an eyeshadow brush to place the bronzer all over your eyelid.
After that, take the blushlighter and apply the lighter shade on the inner lower lid and the darker shade on the outer lower lid.
From there, you’re going to use a dark matte eyeshadow and blend that into your crease, blending it outwards.
Taking the same matte dark shade, you’re going to want to apply to the lower lash line.
Going into the lower lash line again, you’ll want to take the lighter blushlighter shade into the inner lower corner near the tear duct, and blend it into the lower lashline, but try keeping the colors separate.
Next use the liquid liner to make a small, winged liner look.
Coat the top lashes with Telescopic and coat both the top and lower lashes with ELF’s mascara.
Cheeks
Take the lighter color of the blushlighter palette and put it on the high points of your cheek bones with a brush.
Go in with the orange blushlighter color and put it just below the highpoints of your cheekbones.
Blend the color out until it has a nice and even sheen on your skin.
Note: You can put highlighter on your cupids bow and on the bridge of your nose.
Take the blush color “Bright Pink” and put in on the apples of your cheeks.
Final Touches
Take your brow pencil and fill any gaps in that you see on your eyebrows and comb upwards to blend.
I know a lot of people like “perfect looking brows,” but I don’t overly fuss over mine, so I don’t seal with a gel all of the time.
However, Milani makes a decent brow gel if you want to include this step.
Next, put your brown or nude lipstick on.
Final touches…….
You are going to want to go back in with the HD powder all over.
To seal the look, add a finishing spray or use a rose water spray.
Beach Makeup as a Whole
It looks like a lot of steps, but once you get it down it feels really effortless and easy.
It’s also really easy to pack up and use on trips.
This look is versatile enough, where you feel done up for a quick summer glow, but not overly done.
I started doing this around my birthday last year and it’s my go-to makeup look for most things.
Let me know if you’ll try the look in the comments.
Talk to you soon.
