Fall fashion trends to incorporate into your daily wardrobe for fall 2024.
Already?
I know —
Well, get excited because we are almost into the fall season.
I recently started to watch a handful of fall runway shows on YouTube and wanted to give you a quick breakdown (of what I am seeing).
First off–
Don’t start any shopping just yet (pretty please).
I always have to think long and hard before I head off to find any missing gaps in my closet.
Embracing a pause when new information hits your brainwaves is always a bonus.
This is something I am working on, as I can be really decisive and quick when I know I like something.
Letting the information sink in for a moment, seeing what you already own, and going from there, you can make much better choices — I promise.
Trust me when I say you are allowed to sit new trends out.
I promise.
Let’s get into the cheat-cheat for your fall fashion staples (runway edition).
Here it Is — Every Silhouette is Fashionable
Currently, every decade of fashion is being represented silhouette-wise.
In short? Wear the silhouette that makes you the most comfortable.
I will say, however, that I did not see any skinny jeans on the runway, so maybe the verdict is still out on those.
If you like skinny jeans — Wear them and always wear what you like.
Colors
The colors were deep, brown, burgundy, red, chartreuse, and blue with pops of pink and purple.
Icy blues were paired with darker fall colors.
Lots of jewel tones and deep neutrals.
Overall, there has been a lot less use of the color pink since 2023.
Mini Shorts
From men to women, micro-mini shorts were a trend on the runway.
My thinking is that the economy is so up in the air that fashion houses want you to throw your caution to the wind like you just don’t care.
“Wear short shorts, everyone.”
Please see the hemline theory.
Truly.
Tailoring in the pieces was key.
Think back to the 1950s and 1960s for the length and tailoring they used.
It’s giving goodie-two-shoes with a twist.
Early Aught’s Sheer
Lots of sheer dresses in deep neutrals, with water-fall hemlines and a-lines.
From sheer tops and sheer pants to —
Anything really.
I wouldn’t be surprised if you see a lot of clueless Aliaia/Calvin Klein pairings on social media influencers.
The time is now, apparently, and I am not mad at it.
Tall Boots
Boots for long-limbed beauties are all the rage.
As a shorter person, I cannot love this more for the long-limbed folks.
I will be skipping this trend as it will do nothing for my vertical line.
If you’re on the shorter side, I think the boot length that works best for you is whatever you decide on.
My proportions are mid-length (soft classic probs)….
Someone with a shorter height and longer legs can absolutely rock this look, no problem.
Jackets
Boxy silhouettes, structured puff shoulders (not exactly shoulder pad exclusive)…..
Pea coats at mid to short-length were also a trend on the runway.
Long flowy skirts and pants hanging out of shorter jackets were seen as chic, not exactly messy.
I think the late 80s/early 90s must have been an inspiration for a lot of fall-wear.
Double Handbags
There were a lot fewer satchels and more clutches were seen on the runway.
Pairing two clutches together, or a bowler bag (briefcase) with a clutch was seen as a statement in accessing for fall, 2024.
Minimal Jewelry
One thing I noticed on the runway, was less use of jewelry.
Not a lot of jewelry stacking.
The accessorizing was done with the clothes, handbags, and shoes.
Wear your jewelry however you would like.
Hot New Items
The coloring does not have to be chartreuse exactly. It can be in a similar color family. You can play around with it a bit.
I am surprised at how nice this blazer from Walmart looks.
A sheer basic top will go great with so many things in your closet. This one is at an amazing price-point.
If you were wanting to embrace the sheer top trend — this top is perfection.
Thigh-high boots.
Here are a few options.
A pair for under $100.
One for under $60.
A leather bomber jacket.
Great jacket from Revolve.
Jacket that gives a little bit of flair.
Chartreuse.
An oversized clutch and handbag.
If you don’t know what to add this season — I would say invest in a pair of statement shoes.
A cooler toned shade of green for those who don’t love chartreuse on themselves. As someone who is neutral-cool — this shade is better for myself to invest in.
Honorable Mentions
I am loving this option for a fall transition piece as blue is also a great color to add into the mix. This romper is perfect to transition from summer to fall.
Embroidery is also very popular as of late. I think you’ll be seeing that even into 2025.
Boxy silhouettes are also very on-trend for this fall. This blouse is perfect to incorporate with items you already have in your closet.
Playing with color and texture is always fun. A great splurge item. I really love how unexpected this color is.
All in all, I am really loving the vibe of the fall 2024 fashion trends.
Tell me what you’re loving about the trends this season.
xx,
Nikita
