Fall Skincare Routine for Nighttime.
It has been almost two years since I last updated my fall skincare routine.
That means, it is overdue for an update on Bella Kate 22.
A lot of my skincare routine has remained the same in its form…. but a lot of it has progressed as my skin’s needs have changed.
The first nighttime fall skincare routine that I posted was so different from how I approach skincare now.
Not to mention, I now understand SEO, which helps me to see my growth as a blogger, and it feels nice.
Note: These products are listed in the way that I apply them.
Cleanser
First of all, let me start off by saying that I have learned a lot more about skincare since my first skincare blog post.
I have learned a lot about my skin.
No product that I share is better than another product that I used to use, other than Witch Hazel, which I will never use again…..but all of the other items, I really do still genuinely love.
I was using a tea tree oil cleanser that I loved for a bit, but now I swear by Cetaphil’s gentle cleanser.
This has been great for my skin, and I still get breakouts on occasion, but this really does a nice job of keeping my skincare consistent.
Micellar Water as My Double Cleanse
I don’t know if this technically counts as a double cleanse, but I count this step as a double cleanse.
Micellar water is a great gentle approach to makeup remover and my skin loves it.
I use the one by Garnier.
Retinoids
Since my last fall skincare routine that I posted back in 2020, I got into a new retinol, and I have never gone back.
The initial retinol I shared was a great beginner retinol from Pixie, but now I swear by The Ordinary’s retinol.
This particular retinol goes on like a runny lotion, and does an amazing job of turning over your cells.
When I have a breakout on my chin, this is sometimes what clears it up.
Obviously, I would never state that this is a zit killer, but it has noticeably sped up my skin cell turnover rate.
Vitamin C
The Ordinary again comes through with an amazing Vitamin C solution.
When I tell you this works well alongside the retinol, I mean it really works well.
Hyperpigmentation spots clear up so much quicker than the one in my previous post.
One thing to note, is that this solution has small spheres, so I let this product sit on my face before rubbing it gently into the skin.
Also, this will likely burn upon your first few nights of trying this vitamin c solution.
Rotating Skincare Details
So, I switch from Retinol and Vitamin C to an AHA.
I switch between these every other night.
One night is retinol and the next is my AHA.
AHA
I use Farmacy’s Honeymoon Glow.
This is my OG consistent AHA.
I love it.
I love it so much I wrote an entire blog post about the Honeymoon trio set.
Moisturizer
I tend to use the trio set, but if I am consistent on anything I maintain just the AHA portion every other night.
Next, depending on my skin and its needs I may or may not use a moisturizer that is either light or a heavier cream.
I love using CeraVe and Honey Halo.
Vitamin E Oil
This tends to be my last step every night.
If I use moisturizer, this is the last step….
If I forgo moisturizer, this is also the last step.
I buy mine at Trader Joes and it is a favorite of mine and a skincare staple.
