Free At Home Workouts
Happy New Year and Welcome to 2021…….(I thought we would never make it).
With the holidays behind us for a good few months (Valentines & St. Patricks Day are up next), I thought what better way to introduce ourselves to the new year, then to direct ourselves into finding some good ol’ movement.
I am not one to push fitness agenda’s on anyone because our bodies are our own business and you never know what somebody else’s body is going through; however, I will say that throughout this year due to the pandemic, I have found the movement of my body to be beneficial to my mental health (even something as small as a walk or a quick hike).
Growing up, I was always pretty active and enjoyed sports and so not being active is kind of weird during this last while, however…..and I will probably address this later at some point, but, you can sometimes find yourself not able to get to the gym for a myriad of reasons, and with this past year, most of us have had to find alternative ways to get our bodies moving, especially in the colder and darker months.
In this blog post I have found four at home workouts that will challenge you just enough, but will perk you up mentally and leave you wanting to come back for more.
I tried to be as diverse as I could be in the workout selections, so let me know what you think in the comments.
30 Minute Hiit
The first workout is from Popsugar Fitness bringing you a quick and easy HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workout that offers at least three different fitness level strategies. Each fitness instructor models different workout modifications in the video, which allows you to kind of venture in at your own pace, and is a great beginner to intermediate level HIIT workout.
If you find HIIT workouts to be a little too intense, may I introduce you to “Yoga with Adriene”. I find “Yoga with Adrienne” is always a great way to enjoy and learn about yoga, and this class will have you rethinking that yoga is all about that “ease” with this “fat burning” workout.
Coincidentally enough (and right on time), because it is the New Year, she has her “31 Days with Adrienne” yoga challenge going on right now; which I cannot recommend enough. The video linked in this post is all about the burn, but her “31 day challenge” is great for beginners and if you’ve always wanted to study yoga, this is a great time to start.
Also, a bonus is that when you do the “31 day challenge” her themes of the day are some of the most peaceful and meditative topics around, and you’ll leave your yoga mat with more peace within you then when you started, which is always a treat.

Hiit With Maeve Madden……(You’ll feel like a Warrior Queen)
Next is Maeve Madden and the founder of “Team Queen” workouts. Maeve offers amazing and one of a kind HIIT at home workouts (as seen in the link below).
Maeve offers Team Queen Workouts via Instagram and on her website, which is a membership program and it is very easy to sign up for and utilize.
If you’re looking for a great community that holds you accountable, this is the program is for you.
I have never met any workout that made me sweat so much, and I have never enjoyed doing it more.
On https://maevemadden.com she has brought on other fitness trainers so that her program is versatile and meets everyone at their level of fitness, either way, you’ll have a blast with her and her team.
This program has something for everyone and is not to be missed (not to mention fitness challenges to light a fire right under you). I cannot rave about Team Queen enough. Check it out for yourselves and you will not be disappointed.
Tae Bo Like a Rockstar
The next and final workout is a classic that was made in the 90s.
I think most people know and love a good Tae Bo workout, which is why I have included it below. People may forget how revolutionary and catchy these workouts were….
Literally everyone who grew up in the 90s knows who this man is on some level, I am sure.
Have I enticed you all into a little movement with this lovely and not so dull January blog post? As I said before, all of these workouts will leave you feeling good and ready to conquer your day, and all within the comfort of your own home.
What is not to love?
If you need recommendations on workout gear, especially for high arches…..check out this blog post.
Let me know your movement plans in the comments.
Talk to you soon.
