A Mocktail Margarita You’ll Love Making

Welcome to a fun and festive May where I am celebrating with a fun mocktail margarita.
When creating this recipe I was kind of lazy and used ingredients that I already had in my fridge.
I wanted the refreshing taste of a normal margarita with zero hangovers and zero alcohol.
I have really been enjoying making alcohol-free drinks at home to unwind after a long day, or to celebrate.
No, I am not totally alcohol-free, but I rarely drink these days.
I talked about this in 2022, when I stopped drinking after my birthday festivities in July.
It just wasn’t something I was enjoying anymore and I didn’t really see the point.
Any alcohol these days makes me feel like crap, sleep like crap, and as you age– personally, it’s not worth it to me.
The occasional glass of something alcoholic can be fun, but only in moderation.
What You’ll Need
- Glass
- Cocktail shaker
- Ice
- Orange Juice
- Lemon Juice
- Sugar
- Honey
- Chili Lime Powder
- Plate
- Storing Jar
- Pitcher
- Water
- Lime
- Shot glass (one shot is 1.5 oz)
Sugar and Chili Lime Rim
Before making this cocktail, get yourself a glass and a plate.
On this plate you will want to put sugar and chili lime powder.
Wet the rim of the glass with a lime wedge and run the mixture over the rim of the glass.
Mocktail Recipe
- 3 oz of limeade
- 1 oz honey and sugar of simple syrup (equal parts sugar, honey, and water. I used a 1:1 ratio)
- 1.5 oz of orange juice
- 1.5 oz of club soda
Makes one 8-ounce mocktail.
Limeade Recipe
You can buy limeade. I did not have any store-bought on hand so I made my own. For a smaller batch of limeade here is the recipe.
You can use a pitcher, but this recipe is for 12 ounces of limeade.
- Two tablespoons of lime juice
- Four tablespoons of sugar
- Add 11 to 12 ounces of cold water
- Stir until the sugar and lime juice make one liquid form.
Honey Simple Syrup
- One part sugar
- One part honey
- One part water
Add one part sugar, one part honey, and one part water into a small pot on medium heat.
Bring to a boil, pour the mixture into a glass storing jar, and let cool on the countertop for ten minutes.
Store in the fridge for your cocktail-making needs.
Directions
Get all of the ingredients out.
Make sure you have limeade and honey simple syrup on hand.
Rim your 8 oz glass.
Fill your glass with ice about halfway.
Do the same with the cocktail shaker.
Pour the limeade, simple syrup, and orange juice into the shaker and top with the cocktail lid and cap.
Shake for a good 20 to 30 seconds.
Pour the cocktail into your rimmed glass.
Top off with club soda.
Garnish with a lemon wedge.
Enjoy!
(Tip: Add more limeade than orange juice or the orange juice overpowers this mocktail.)
