Warming up oneself with an epic and old fashioned hot toddy recipe is exactly what my flu ordered.
I do not recommend getting the flu anytime soon.
Having not had the flu for almost twenty years……The flu that is going around right now is on steroids.
I can confirm.
Old Fashioned Hot Toddy Recipe- In Moderation
Now, you know I am a fan of moderation and if you’ve been reading the blog for a few months, you’ll know I don’t drink much anymore.
However, this flu needed a potent slap in the kisser and I for one was in no position to continue my tango with the flu.
I actually normally have whisky on hand in the winter specifically for cold and flu season, but this year I was underprepared.
In reality I caved and had to order out for the Jameson.
The truth of the matter is that I suffered greatly in making the decision (half joking)…..
Sitting on the couch wrestling with the mental anguish of suffering the sickness longer, or kicking it out with whisky.
But because I practice moderation, I knew I was making the best decision for me.
Why a Hot Toddy?
I truly am a fan of home remedies first and over the counter methods second.
When I considered my history with Theraflu versus an old fashioned hot toddy…….
The hot toddy has always worked better than anything store bought when dealing with a cold……
I knew having a warm cup of tea mixed with whisky was going to be potent enough to make my health return.
If you know, you know.
