An Affordable Four Step Summer Daytime Skincare Routine for Everyone
We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.
Summer Daytime Skincare is my favorite time of year to skincare. You know?
I have been loving my four-step daytime skincare routine and I thought I would share it here.
For reference, I have a combination oily skin type.
Every product that I mention you can get at the drugstore or online.
Daytime Cleanser
I love an easy daytime cleanser.
My mom introduced me to Cetaphil.
I asked her if it was any good.
She said yes, so I said, “I will try it.”
This was around the time that I was using a tea tree oil cleanser, with a witch hazel toner.
My skin barrier was so mad at me.
Cetaphil was the beginning of a gentler approach to my skincare.
Because I have combination skin, I opt for the “normal to oily” cleanser.
Antioxidant Facial Serum
Do you want to know a secret?
Trader Joe’s has some amazing skincare.
Their antioxidant facial serum is one of my favorite things to use.
When I remember to use it — the skin is “doing amazing sweetie.”
Why do I use it during the day?
It has vitamin C, which goes nicely with sunscreen during the day.
Why does that matter? Pairing vitamin C with SPF can optimize your SPF to protect your skin.
To be warned, this is a silicone-based serum.
When using this, I apply it directly after washing my face and on skin that has been dried.
I couldn’t love this stuff more.
The Best Cream for Your Face
Annie Mac said it best when she said, “This is Créme de la Mer.”
Sold.
Nivea Cream is my best skincare purchase of 2024.
Hands down.
I started using the blue version first. I love it.
My neck did not.
So I opt for the Nivea Soft Cream for my face and neck.
The blue is great for under the eyes.
I honestly think Nivea cream in any of its forms is better than any eye cream I have ever used in my life.
Not to mention, it lasts you about two and a half months.
I use mine day and night.
A travel sized bestie.
The OG.
Sunscreen
My final step to summertime daytime skincare — is a great and long-lasting sunscreen.
Sunscreen seals in the moisture, protects my skin, and also acts as a primer for any makeup I may be wearing that day.
I have been loving the availability of Eucerin’s Age Defense sunscreen.
I can pick it up at Target.
My other favorite is Paula’s Choice in the purple packaging.
I always purchase SPF 50.
Anything other than SPF 50, and I do not want it.
Their entire Age defense line looks amazing as well.
Check out their hyperpigmentation control SPF.
