Wedding Guest Dresses Season
It is that time again.
The time when we have to pull up to our very best friends and families wedding celebrations.
I am going to be honest.
These are my rules for wedding guest dress shopping.
If I have only one wedding to attend, I am probably heading into my closet to see if there is anything in there worth wearing first.
If I have multiple weddings in one season……..
I’m probably going to want to shop for a new dress or two.
Wedding Guest Outfit Etiquette Tip #1
Don’t wear white.
If the bride is on her second marriage, don’t wear cream.
To be safe, stay away from any variation of white as it is very disrespectful to the bride on her special day.
Wedding Guest Tip #2
Avoid trying to wear the colors of the wedding party if you can help it.
Obviously, if you and the bride aren’t very close, you’re probably not going to know the weddings actual colors, but you will likely find hints of what colors to steer clear of in the wedding invitation.
Shopping for Your Dress
So, now that we have our wedding guest dresses etiquette out of the way, we can focus on the bigger picture…..
Which is what you are going to want to wear.
For the Wedding Guest Who Wants Chic Elegance
May I suggest the Rhode Resort Lydia Ruffle Maxi Dress?
Or, this dress by NastyGal.
A fun pink dress with voluminous sleeves seems like a win to me. You will arrive to the wedding ready to party and isn’t that what it’s all about?
Another great pink option.
I think this dress does an amazing job of looking effortless but still manages to look comfortable.
Plus, its a perfect dress to wear in spring and summer and you’re able to dance in it without anything on the top or bottom falling out.
Also, if you really want one of a kind in season pants that likely won’t go out of style and in a few decades your grandkids will want to wear them….
These pants by alice + olivia are it.
The Everyday Wedding Guest
I love how beachy this dress reads but it is still nice enough to wear to a wedding.
Also loving this casual caftan as well.
If you’re looking for a light and aerie dress (pun intended), check out American Eagle.
This one from ASOS is very 90’s dreams. I am kind of obsessed to be honest.
I still stand by the Target pink flutter dress, as being a great summer dress for weddings.
For the perfect summer wedding slip dress, ASTR the Label, made a cowl slip midi dress.
It looks amazing.
Under $50
You can also find great wedding guest dresses for under $50.
Here are some great options.
Keeping it simple with florals.
Very much in love with this dress option as well.
This one from amazon is something that could work really well for weddings this summer.
As is this one. I love how airy it looks and I love the color. Perfect shade of blue.
I have to be honest though, if you are wanting to find higher end looking dresses, you may have to spend more.
I did find a few under $50 options, but you really do have to look.
Also, just because something is priced higher end does not mean it translates to well made, or expensive looking.
It has to do with the cut, the fit, the print (loud prints don’t always age well in your closets) and the fabric.
Happy Wedding Guest Dress shopping.
