What to Wear in Spring if It’s Cold Out Still

Deciding what to wear in spring if it’s cold out can be challenging to dress for.
Most of us are still wanting to be bundled up in sweaters and the truth is, the weather still allows for that.
As we prepare for warmer temps it is also important to dress for the weather we are having.
Vests
Vests are a great way to dress for early spring. Maybe you don’t want to wear a jacket, but you want to keep warm in the middle….that’s where a great outdoor vest comes into play.
I also really love this VEST from amazon.
This leather vest from Vero Modo is also really chic and cool- not to mention it’s a great layer that can take you from winter to spring. I will link similar options below.
Another great layering piece is this trench vest by Vince Cameo and some other similar options below.
Also loving this puffer vest in a browny nude tone.
Transitional Dresses
I love a transitional winter to spring dress for a lot of reasons.
First, the weather is getting warmer but it’s still cold out so I can get away with darker shades of clothing that flirt with fall tones, but I can also infuse my wardrobe with brighter colors.
It just feels like a fun chance to get a bit more creative and daring with layering and clothing during this time of year.
This mock turtle neck tweed dress is a great transitional piece.
I love how this dress can be inserted back into winter and fall and is a great transition to spring item.
This shift dress from Tuckernuck has long sleeves, allowing you to stay warm, but also is bright enough to wear to spring events.
Another great investment is this Trina Turk shift dress.
Pants
Pants are probably the favorite go-to for many people just because they are a staple and easy to find in most department stores and online.
Having faux leather slacks or trousers is a really good investment to transition into the colder months.
White jeans are a fun transitional way to incorporate warmer tones into the warmer months as well.
Wide leg jeans and high waists are really making a comeback.
While I don’t love all fashion trends, I do think that certain silhouettes are timeless and I think these pants fall into the timeless silhouettes, colors and textures category.
Blazers & Jackets
I have always been a blazers girl. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a tweed blazer my senior year of high school.
Target had one that was pink tweed.
I was obsessed and I often wore it with my ripped flared AE jeans and black kitten heels.
Ah….Those were the days.
Check out this lavender blazer that will go with so may jeans and t-shirt options as we head into spring.
A great leather jacket is always a great way to layer on warmer clothing as the chill factor lifts for summer.
This cropped beige jacket from JCrew is also a great winter to spring choice.
Finishing with this trench coat.
