The longer the hemline, the worse the economy?

Apparently, this theory “has been turned on its head.”

But I don’t fully agree.

We have no one calling a recession any time soon (the numbers haven’t met the requirements of calling a recession).

I’ve read maybe the end of 2023 or starting in 2024 — we could start to see it actually being named a recession.

Who actually knows?

I know the numbers haven’t dipped towards the scale of “recession” but inflation has been ick.

It feels like we are in a season of firsts.

This past spring, we saw a lot of micro mini skirts on the runway and on social media.

I think this trend was mirrored by the tennis skirt trend for middle America — not so much IRL style. But I could be wrong.

I am specifically thinking of the Mui Mui skirt that was really popular amongst fashion influencers and models.

Because of the economy doing the weirdsies, plus the insane inflation rates hitting American households — longer hemlines are due for a comeback.

Regardless of your beliefs on the hemline economics theory, can we admit that long skirts are fun?

Loving the shape of the beige skirt. Very mermaid like and very appropriate for fall.

Orange is such a fun color to incorporate for fall. This year I am really loving the idea of infusing outfits with pops of color in a stronger and more muted tone than one would see in summer.

This skirt is perfect.

This skirt is very easy to style. I think when buying items, it is really important to scale it with what you already own. A skirt like this would be amazing to have on hand for warm and cooler fall days.

I Love a good denim skirt. I only wish this one had a darker wash.
